Just wonder if there is any documented differences between the 172, 172 Cup and 182 front shocks? Is there any difference with the bump and rebound rates of these lot or is the difference all in the springs?
I have no idea what the rates are but there are different part numbers for each shock. I'd imagine the cup pack shocks are a bit more firmer but that's about it.
i dont know the physical tech specs but i know for definate 172 cup dampers are uprated over normal 172 ones, and 182 ones are even more so (with difference bolt spacing remember)
but basically, trophy excluded, 182 cup ones are the best of the bunch.
Thanks. In my non cup 182 Ive got Eibach Sportlines with Trophy rear dampers and standard 182 front dampers. I feel like the rears are a good match but the fronts not so much. Would it be age (they are around 60k kms old)? I was thinking that 172 Cup dampers might be firmer so would be a better match? Im trying to avoid coilovers because the rear feels quite good as is, and Konis because of the price for just front dampers, and I wouldnt need the adjustability either.
