172/182 exhaust

hi all

Just wondering why a 182 wont fit a 172 without customizing.. is the 182 exhaust a shorter system than the 172 from the manifold?
Obviously the footwell gets in the way aswell.. just need to know if ones longer/shorter

Mainly because the 172 has a spare wheel well.

They will be different lengths as they use different cat Setups, Think the 172 one will be longer footwells not the prob its the spare wheel

Are you after the manifold as well? Or just the twin exit pipes?

I have a vague recollection I saw a 172 back box that gave you twin pipes like a 182 and went round the spare wheel well. Can't remember where, I may have dreamt it.

Renault OE 182 system will not fit a 172.

182 has no spare wheel well.

The rear boxes on a 182 are located where your spare wheel well is.

K-Tec do a "182-look" system which routes the pipework around the well.

I got mine done at the local custom exhaust shop, sounds fantastic and looks amazing, also half the price of the system from k-tec.

Yeah, i've already got the 182 look exhaust, but its old and rattles to death. i'll be cutting the wheel well out soon and i can get 182 race exhaust cheap so i was just wondering if i'll need to alter exhaust or not.. cant say for sure untill its ready to go on..
