And whats about the insurance? how does that work out?

Its a better flowing exhaust (4 - 2 - 1 manifold on the 182) between them and thats about it.

I've driven my girlfriends 182 a few times and i keep saying mine feels quicker, and thats not me being biased either!
Hers feels better bolted together mind you...

My 172 was quicker than Marks 182 on our 4am motorway Wii rush, unmodded bar a panel filter and an SS exhaust.

Depends on how good/bad your engine is.

My 182 seems to crawl past 172's but for some weird reason after 100 mph the 172's start to pull it back.

There is no real advantage in terms of performance.

I'd say no as you're car must be worth a mint!!! You must have the only black 172 cup in existance!!

I think that a 172 with 40/50k on the clock is quicker than a 182 with 10/20k on the clock, as I had a dual with one just before my holiday and I crept past. Mine's standard.

Nothing in it at all - but the 172 Cup is the quickest of the lot in standard trim. Isn't the 172 Cup one group higher on insurance as well, iirc?

Depends on the insurance company Darren, some rate it as 17 and others just see it at group 16. But as it's got no TC/ABS/ESP I'd say it warrants a greater risk for insurance firms.

main difference is the abs - there's bugger all in a straight line pace as the 182 carriers more weight than the 172. The cabin of the 182 is slightly better as the 172 is a bit dated but not that it matters as they are both cracking cars.

£22k for a JDM Civic V £10k for a Trophy. The Honda is obviously better built, but the Trophy will always win with me as it's a £12k saving.
