I'm 19 and I pay £2050 fully comp with Bell for my 182's insurance. My postcode rating sucks too.

cheer i will give them a look :)

the other option i can think of is the 1.6 with 182 seats and body kit - what is the 1.6 like for speed? - is it a good middle if that makes sense?

Go with Bell, put your mum/sis/aunt on the insurance.

Excess at about £250-£350 (not reccomended but will bring it down)

Do a quote for in the garage and then adjust it to the street. Belive it or not its cheaper for me to insure my car on the street than a 24 secured underground parking...

Then pics of your mum & sis

You need to insure it where you keep it though. So you cant say its kept in a garage, if its not.

To the OP, imo, if its going to be to expensive, your probably better of starting a little lower down the chain, and building your NCB, age is a pretty harsh thing aswell.

£1370 for me at 19 with 1 YNCB, but 2 1/2 driving. Still pretty cheap.

Elephant btw, their online quotes are much better than their over the phone ones, especially if you play around with the excess and some of the details.

Wrong.

I spoke to Bell on the phone, i said i have underground parking at my flat but i wont always be parked there, it will be on the street sometimes.

He said as long as you have the facilities that you have on your insurance reguardless of where its kept it doesnt matter.

However if you say its park in a garage and you dont have one, then your not covered.

If I put garage instead of street on mine then it was £300 more expensive !

I said street but I actually park it on the drive and sometimes in the garage.

Makes sense yeh, what i said is half right then really, as if you dont have a garage, dont say its parked in there.

Thats pointless.

Its like a bank having a safe, not putting the money in their, just leaving it on the counter.

But aslong as you have a safe, they will pay out if its gets stolen.

Meh, i dont think so. Ill stick to declaring where its actually parked.

cheers guy i will give bell a ring :)

i have a garage - it will be staying in there for sure

not even going to risk my pride and joy on the street - its a good area but it only takes one nob and your cars wrecked :(

Do it online mate.

Much better, do what i said about where its parked try both.

Not always true. There was a famous case featured on Road Wars or something similiar where an Audi S3 was stolen and written off. The insurance company refused to pay out as it was declared as kept in a garage on his policy, but it was parked on the drive at the time it was stolen.

What do you put if you dont park it in the street, on the drive, in a garage, car park etc?

becuase reason im askin is i dont park in any of those, but we just have a patch in the back enough for 5vehicles and is off the road :S but we dont owe it, as the house that comes with the post office does,

i was 1400 or something when i was 18/19...Was in old boys name till i was 19. Then 1100 or something with admiral on own policy.

Try Adrian Flux or Elephant if you haven't already. Strange you can't get a quote, I can from Bell and I'm 18, but I've been driving longer.

This is going to sound like im being a c**t, but like i care.

Don't get one.

You cant afford to insure it and even if you did manage to it sounds like all of your money will end up paying purely to insure the bloody thing.

Don't run before you can walk.

Get something nice thats cheap to insure and run that for a bit.
Its really not worth spending your hard earned on insurance, trackers ain't cheap either.

I got my 182 at 21 and paid £1200pa (with 5 years NCB!!) Thats a decent holiday a year or 12 decent nights out. What a f**king waste.

Now im 27 its dipped under £400.

If youve got a car already and its insured in youre name, dont bother getting a new one till youve got your years NCB, I changed my car 8 months into a policy and lost the best part of a years no claims, just through impatience. youll find it easier to get quotes with a years ncb too.

Lol - your area is classed as B which is very low risk. My advice is either get a cheap runb around dont waste your money wait till 1 yrs no claims and you will defo get a quote.

Did you put a women on the insurance - it goes down allot!!

Nothing wrong with buyin a performance hatch at a young age. Alot of the people on here are bitter than they didn't have the opportunity to do it. I've you've saved your hard earned and have your heart set on one then go for it. I don't regret giving up the odd night out for the sake of owning the car. 5yrs later and i'm still paying out more on cars than i am my Flat!! ;) Priorities!
