172 A/C climate control not behaving itself

  Clio 172
Hi My 172 developed an annoying glitch.
When the car is on no matter what button you press on the heater control panel it does what the hell it pleases,
Turn it off and it blows like crazy, turn it up full on screen and it blows about half, etc.
From what I've read it might be the rheostat pack (which is bellow the drivers side scuttle plate?)
What I was wondering was if
a, it is likely to be the rheostat pack?
and
b, is it OK to remove the pack and then use the car while i'm waiting for it to be repaired?

Thanks for any help

Sounds like the resistor pack as you say. I can refurb them, but I'm not in the country for a while.

You can get them from Ebay cheap enough though. And yes, you are fine to remove it and still run the car. I'd stick the plug in a bag and tie wrap it though, just incase water gets in there.
