172 brake upgrade recommendations



I have a Ph2 172 with the standard discs/pads and they're due to be replaced soon as they're getting a little worn and after the track day yesterday, I need to go bigger and better.

Are the 197 or Megane 225 brakes bigger/better?

So what do you recommend?

Brakes are already fairly decent. My setup is Tarox G88 front discs, oem rear discs, DS2500 pads, Goodridge lines and Castrol Super Response Dot4 fluid. Never had any fade at all on track.

All you need is ds2500's, brembo hc discs and braided hoses. But watch this space re pads;)

Best affordable option is what brown bear has recommended. Should be more then enough really!

Def go for Brembo Disc, DS2500 and braided hoses, have ran mine for a while on Brembo Max, gonna try the HC in the next few weeks.
A great setup, only better will be a big brake kit, £££££.

i got the brembo hc's and ferodo pads ds2500 went on the track yesturday with them, awesome they were absolutely epic, would recommend them, when I bought them ktec had a deal going on them, not sure if they still do? worth a ganders
 
Looks like the majority have recommended and that is top of the list at the mo :)

Always been a fan of ds2500 however they arn't road legal if your cars post 2001 I think. Can't remember the full details something to do with them not being certified. A believe pagid pads are.

Fred how much for the brembo hc max, and ds2500 delivered to my door and the brake fluid u`d suggest already got braided hoses , tar
 
I have been told by a friend (who is currently running DS2500 pads on his race car) that I may be better off with the DS2000 pads as I use the car a lot, daily and very "rarely" go out on track... maybe three/four times a year. Is he correct or would the DS2500 pads still be what I need?
