172 Buying Advice....

Right, once i get my payrise or new job (depending on what comes first - lol!) im going to buy a 172 as an integra is out of my price range!

Looking at a budget of around 6500/7k. So a mk1 is on the list. I have seen 2 in this price range at garages local to me - one was blue with 40k and another in silver with 33k. Both FRSH and in VGC.

Now, what i need to know is what do I need to look out for on a 172 at this type of mileage?

Of course I will have it HPid in depth using the kind help of the misses who can get it done for free at her work!!

I bought my 02 172 for £7,000 with just over 17k on the clock. It was from a garage and was £7,995 before a bit of haggling :).

I was at first looking for the Ph1 shaped 172s because I preffered the shape but after buying the Ph2 one, Its kinda grown on me and Im well chuffed with it now :D

buying a mk 1.......

i woud say dont buy a silver one (everybodys got one) or metallic red (they look pink in sunlight) blue and black are better choice..the original exhaust will be ready to drop so check that, and the clutch might be a bit high and ready for a new one, check for "curb saver" tyres (as originally fitted) and the spare in the boot should be a 172 alloy, original mats were the same colour as the carpet trim and do tend to go missing ( especially when they go for £70+ on e bay)....good luck
