172 Cigarette Lighter

This is a weird one. The cigarette lighter in my 172 wont power any device (mobile phone chargers etc), but it will still heat up.

How is this possible? Is it connected wrong or does it just not run chargers etc.

Renault had it in and said that if it heats up it should power adaptors etc.

your phone adapter needs a longer center ... its not quite touching the middle.

center is positive.... around outside is the negative...

if these touch you will get life!!!

OK. So do I need a new charger, or can I modify the existing one. And yes, my ignition is on. lol
