172 clio......??

Hi. New on here. Just bought a 2lt clio 172 for sprints and hillclimbs etc. Guy said was as a 172 cup phase 1...says sport on v5 and on the doors. Is it all the same car?? Or whats the differences. How can i tell?! Any tips on basics to do to get max power. Got induction kit in it. Will be stripped out and cage etc all done soon. Thanks!

No such thing as a Ph1 Cup. Yours is a Ph1. Cups were only in Ph2 or 182. A lot of people think they are all cups which is probably where the confusion started.

Power wise there's not much you can do to them without spending big money on throttle bodies/turbo charging/supercharging, best thing with these is a decent exhaust and a remap, weight and handling are what these cars are all about, in terms of induction kits most will lose power over the standard setup, K-Tec sell a IK that's quite good but it's bloody expensive and you can make one of your own for a fraction of the cost.

No it's a Ph1 Mk2

Mk1 was the Williams shape nicknamed the"Valver"
