172 coil pack has died - its in clio need help

  RenaultSport clio 172 mk2
went out in car yesterday and it started misfiring and then chugging as tho i was driving over a road of cattle grids.

so i took it in, left it with them, no courtsey car so walked 12 miles home (kinda countryfied walk)

they wrung me up, said the coil pack was the problem, but its advisable to fit new spark plugs at the same time - at £14.58 + vat a time totaling to 70 odd quid. the coil pack is under warenty, am i worth just paying for the plugs or just saying forget it, use the old ones.

they wont give them me for free, are the plugs even that good ??

We've had a nightmare with our 1.6 dynamique.

Had that exact same problem a few months ago, car misfiring firing on 2/3 cylinders, so renault replaced 2 coilpacks on warrenty (cost £45 each).

Then last weekend it happened again - had to get the AA out to change another coilpack, but they would only change 1 so we've got another one that needs doing.

Typical renault, don't change them all at the same time as it costs too much. fuckin cheapskates.

Oh and why can't they just use normal leads and sparkplugs instead of these stupid expensive coilpacks? madness
