172 cup gear linkage!

Need to replace my 172 cup gear linkage. But would like to know if a phase 1 would fit on it? Thanks!

Yer bottom of the gear stick to the selector on the gearbox

Mine is the full linkage from the gear knob to the box. Unmarked condition.

He was asking about the linkage and not the gear stick. It sits underneath the car so people aren't usually bothered if it got a mark on it or not

Regarding the linkage, should there be any play in it? Mine has a fair bit, due to (from memory) the connecting pin with the split pin. Would a new pin sort this?
