Hi Guys

Have a mk1 172 with ITb's and cams. Its a quick car however its quick above 4-5,000 rpm and the gearbox ratios seen to long. My mate has a 172 cup and his car is so quick of the mark. He reckons i should but a cup gearbox in mine as it has shorter ratios and will be better for the car and the engine set up i have. What do you guys think?

Cup box (JC5-129) is shorter than the ph1 (JC5-089) but it depends what you're aim is. If you're going for lap times then go for it but if not then I wouldn't change a perfectly working 089 for an unknown 129.
