172 cup lumpy idle?

hi guys, new 2 this site! picked up my 172 cup a week ago and really happy with it ive noticed that it idles a bit rough which i know can be a problem on these but ive also noticed that there is a hose missing from the airbox to the feed hose from behind the bumper grill, would this make it worse?? think the last owner fitted an oversized battery and removed the pipe, can get pics if needs be...

I can't see the missing hose will cause the problem.

When you say lumpy, does it just sound a bit lumpy or does the rev needle fluctuate up and down?

RS Tuner maps helps a lot with the idle, think it raises the rpm on idle very slightly, Seems a lot happier on cold mornings.

Panal filter cures the normal lumpy idle. Filter might be dirty. Depends if there's not something else wrong.

the needle doesnt jump around but the car is a bit sort of shakey at idle, as if it may cut out but it never does. its not a massive problem but just wandering if there was any fix for it....

They are all a wee bit lumpy mate, nothing to worry about imo

They do idle fairly rough, if you listen too the exhaust it coughs every now and again. JMS do a remap for £140 iirc.

yeh the exhaust does do that, im not 2 worried about it as ive heard they do run a bit lumpy, once ive got my bike mapped i migh look at getting the clio done!

Lumpy idle is normal and the missing air feed won't cause any problems. I find using super unleaded helps make the idle much smoother.

I was going to ask this very question as my iceberg 172 does this but my old cup didn't. I've put a panel filter in the 172 from the cup but not the decat and exhaust plus I think the cup was remapped.

Can I swap over the ECUs?
