172 Cup - Number Manufactured ?

  Ex-Cup/Escort MK1 Mexico
Does anybody know how many made in the UK ?

Also approximately how many are still in one piece ?!?

Had mine two months and have only ever seen one other on the road...

they are round here sean aren't they

christ, i think it's safe to say, clios are the most popular car round here :(

Certainly wrong to say loadsa 172 cups - an unabused one is a top car.

I emailed Renault about the 182 cup in inferno. They said thay 86 made - don't know if true; but if it, it is means the 182 cup in inferno is the dogs tonsils.

How many 182 with Cup packs in Inferno though? That will add more to that total!

I believe that only a few hundred cups were silver too - they are rare as, i've only even seen one on the roads & they are a member on here.

Clios are the number 1 car in Telford, There are 2 cups in the small village in Telford that I live in! The thing is, when you drive a 172 cup, you tend to notice them more than if you owned another car! There was another one mangled yesterday (see renaultsport.co.uk) I may keep hold of my cup forever, as one day it may be the only one left!!! ;o)

There are probably about 1,500 left I would have said, but there are a fair few that have gone to the scrapyard in the sky!

PS. CC is not a man's option! (Awaits flaming!) ;o)

  172 Cup
Which small village in telford? Girlfriend lives in Randly, myself near Shifnal, even went to school round there

172 Cup's common as muck???? thats the funniest thing ive heard for a while... wonder what CTR's and MCS's are classed as in "Sh33n land"

Think it was 2236 made, but a while back there was some Parc Vehicle data thing and it said something like 2000 still on the road (i.e. taxed)

I've actually had mine since Sept 6th so its 3 months now and blimey I'm 35 and have driven most types of cars over the years, grew up with and still own RWD Mk1 Escorts but I have to say the Cup is so twitchy in the wet. I live a few miles from Brecon, so I have some of the most open and pleasurable roads in the country to drive on but god I felt I was going to total it so many times when I gave it a bit of wellie ! As Rob Brydon says 'Its just a bit of fun !'

honestly don't see half as many CTR/MCS round here, they have a higher 2nd hand value than cups, therefore many people round here have gone for the cheaper option

i live in the same town as sh33n by the way ;)

I couldn't tell you the last time I saw a Cup on the road.

I see loads of 182's (more than 172's including the odd phase 1 172) and even a V6 every couple of weeks. But never a Cup. Guy I work with used to have one but, you guessed it, it went off to a better place. Via a ditch. :(

PS @ Jon r - A Cup with CC is such a wannabe.. ;)

Don't tell everyone I'm a cheap skate! lol.

I see two CTRs on the way to work everyday, never any Cups.

But I do see at least three different ones around town on a weekly basis.
