one has all the toys and one has f**k all and not really any diff in performance.

i had the 182 because i wanted climate/cruise/ nice seats etc but if this doesnt bother you get the cup

oh and this is not the start of a which is fastest debate;)

Come have a look at my Ph2 172 Pete - Im local and will call you today. Cant make it today I dont think, but we can at least have a chat.

At the very least youll be able to see what your money gets you and then have a think whether it s worth:

a) Not having the extra toys on the Cups (172 or 182)

b) Spending a lot more money (182)

182 cup with optional recaros or fit better aftermarket seats thats what im going to do so perhaps im biased. Standard evo 9 just recorded a 8 minutes 10 seconds ring time, me being a traitor not sure how long im going to keep the cup.

Depends what sort of driver you are and what you like.

imo the 172 cup isnt best suited to british roads (being the quality they are)

In london or any other big city id opt for the full fat 172 or 182.

I would agree that the cup suspension setup can be uncomfortable on longer journeys, but this may apply to your choice of 182

If you think ABS is going to prevent from being a nobend and using roundabouts as launch ramps then you need to think again

Doesnt a massive modified Skyline hold an unoffical record of 6mins something?

I remember BMW boosting about their time and Nissan cutting them down saying basically "weve beaten that by almost a 30 secs many years ago"

Thought that was about the ring?

Hi Pete, havnt seen you on here in time, id say 182 with cup packs just keep that head case of an ex well away from it.

I own a Williams 2 and want a 172 Cup.

Ive driven a 182 with the Cup packs and IMHO the 172 Cup is a much much better car.

But I do very few miles and would be mostly doing trackdays.....

Both nice cars though.
