172/cup springs

Need some help. I was under the impression that the cup front springs were 3mm lower and 10% stiffer than the 172 items is this correct or im I misreading renos info.

springs are the same

the difference in ride height comes from the change in front castor angle.

The shocks are also stiffer!

I was under the impression the cup shocks or springs were 10% stiffer also.

The reason I asked is I have driven two cups and they both seemed a lot stiffer. The cup brochure says the springs are stiffer. Not sure what to beleive.

The Cup has definately got a firmer ride & less role...

Ive done trackdays in both and the Cup is much better on the track than the 172, but aftermarket stuff will be better again!

if you buy a 172 you have an option from renault of the cup suspension package, think that goes for the new 182 as well, so at the end of the day it must be better, why would you pay for an option of the same suspension???

were talking about the spring, not the suspension

the new 182 is avaliable with the option of the cup spec suspension(stiffer springs and shocks).all other parts like wishbones etc are the same.
