172 Cup starting problem

I have an intermittent starting problem with my 172 cup. I have gone a month since the last time it's done this.

When starting the engine turns over but does not fire and the fuel pump doesn't seem to be running. sometimes it takes 3-4 times to start other times it can be 20+. I have changed TDC sensor and checked the battery for loose terminals ect. I have had mechanic mate of mine check it out and he seems to think its an immobiliser issue?

Any ideas?

Had same prob with my 02 172 about 5 weeks ago.

Does your red light on the dash go out when you try to start it?
If not the immob is not disarming....

I took mine to renault and the put it on the computer..

They cleared some faults it had, cleaned my relays which were correded and resynched my key....£65.....

No probs since ( touch wood )....
