i think the difference will be a lot on track. I went out in a VX220 on saturday and to me its a whole different car. A better car at that, its sooo flat round bends and the acceleration is much better than my 172 cup. I want one now! I cant imagine what the turbo would be like

trust mi..the vx will kill ya..my brotherinlaw as 1.its a awsome bit of track kit..sticks to the roads like sh*te to a blanket..and the accelaration is good "very good"...

Having had a "quick straight line" sprint with Lee M, I was pulling away marginally in my VX220.

The car really is flat through the bends.

The only thing is that the 172/cup is more forgiving.

Yup...once you dial into the Cups traits you can take liberties with it...and it IMHO would take a pretty tidy driver out on a trackday in a NA VX220 to really pull away.

Would love to have a run out with one...where are you going?

Id liked to have done that a little more properly. I wasnt ready, I pulled alongside to get another look at yours.

I dont think theres a huge difference, but its certainly quicker than the Trophy. The Turbo would have eaten me up and spat me out.

There must be some private roads around your area?

I didnt think you would be up for it with the roof off and the misses in the car. lol

I was thinking that. We shall have to locate some.

I was going to get you to pull into the services so I could have a proper look but we were kinda 3 lanes away from it with a few yards to go. lol

I just sold my VX turbo and am currently looking at a Trophy (ill post about it in another thread). Did a Evoactive day at Brands Hatch in the VXT and thought I was doing respectable laps. I was certainly passing some Caterhams and 911s and generally being a hero. Then I went out as a passenger with an instructor in a standard Clio 182 with no mods or roll cage or anything and he just obliterated everyone. I just couldnt believe how quick you can go when you can REALLY drive. Obviously in his hands the VXT would have been quicker still but it just goes to show that driver skill is the real deciding factor.

if its someone elses car that would prolly shave a couple of seconds off a lap cos your not worrying about replacing the pads when you get home ;)
