172 cup vs mk5 golf gti

  182FF
First of all hi all, my first post, my first clio sport!

172 cup = Ktec stainless steel exhaust (decat), BMC cda induction kit and remap

My old mans car (Golf gti mk5) standard.

He seems to think his car will p*ss all over mine in every way is this true? anyone ever come up against one etc?

Thanks all Sam!

What gti is it?

I know I'll prob get slated for this, but I'd say the cup will be quicker everywhere except at 70 + mph.

Depends what golf it is though really... The 2.0t edition 30 with dsg is quoted 0-60 in 6.4

Round a track, I'd have the cup all day long.

There seems to be a lot of these threads popping up.

Do people still really care?

Maybe i'm just getting old.

nice cars but I think the clio will be around even stevens from 0-100, the longer legs of the turbo may have you after 100. Along some country roads the clio would be the better car

Its not the new one the one before, the MK5 google image it. Its a manual 2.0t 5 door!
You say it wont out handle the clio but he keeps bringing out old EVO mags where the MK5 beat the 200 round the track? :(

My money would be on the GTI. My money would also go towards the GTI, but that's not what you're asking.

Just purely out of interest chap (and welcome to the Club :)) how old are you?

  Mk5 Golf GTI :)
I would think it would be pretty cliose. Didnt someone on here go from the clio to the gti, but now wants to go back?. His comparison would give you a better (honest) opinion.
