172 Cup Windscreen

Windscreen has developed a big crack. Unfortunatly i don't have windscreen cover.... Does the 172 cup have a different wind screen to the normal sports i,e. heard they were thinner? Also autoglass have quoted me £371, dont think i want to be paying that, anyone else worth trying?

Do you have windscreen cover as part of your insurance?

It is different, had mine replaced through my insurance couple of years ago. If they ask you, it has no sun-reflective-coating (you can apparently work it out as the coating either gives the glass a purple or green tint, cup's glass looks clear from the inside).

Not sure if it is thinner, I didnt think so but may be wrong, thats the side glass on the car thats thinner afaik.

£371 seems very extreme!

It was only 250 notes for a replacement screen on my old Focus and that was heated.

Go to a smaller local fitter,got ours for about £145 inc vat and fitting.

cheers, found somewhere that will replace for £130 + vat (1st direct Basingstoke), alot better then Autoglass!
