And didnt magazine tests get better 0-60 times from the mark 1 compared to the mark2??? Im sure I have seen tests comment on the difference.
Even if the mark1 or cup are quicker, you cant buy a brand new mark 1 so you either get a cup or mark 2 if you prefer all the mod cons. Having owned an MG Metro and now my 16v I have never had aircon etc and my 16v has everything I want with remote CL, leccy everything etc. I would go for the CUP but then car supermarket price of the mark 2 is about the same. Down to personal taste and requirement for luxury at the end of the day.
