172 dash in a mk1??

Has anyone tried fitting a 172 dash into a mk1? Just wondering if the mounts are roughly the same as fitting the dash and the interior wiring loom would mean I would be able to use the 172 alarm/immob/central locking as well as the 172 clocks

Do you know if it lines up with the existing mounts or does it need some fabrication witch craft?

doesn't go straight in no.
when we got it it was cut down the middle in 2 halves. now it has a new dash cut at the sides so it doesn't look as bad. it's slightly wider

so it needs to be shortened down.

Mmmm was kinda hoping for an easy install. Nevermind will make my mind up over the next couple days if I want to use it or not. I do prefer the mk2 clocks and would like to use the 172 interior loom so I can keep the better central locking :/
