172 driveshunt , possible solution





Just a thought , but here goes . Although my Williams never suffered from the knocking etc that the Cliosports seem to , the standard mounts were always a bit soft resulting in a bit of driveshunt . Nick Hill at Hillpower fitted an uprated bottom sway bar which really tightened up the slack in the engine . Its a direct replacement for the factory item .

I dont know if their is one available for the newer models , but even if not there must be enough people that would buy one to warrant soemone fabricating one with uprated bushes . If someone has already tried this then fair enough , but if not ,it may be worth a go .

Once the mounts have been properly tightened the knocking doesnt seem to come back (fingers crossed 12,000 miles later). In the event that it reappears though - thats a good sugestion.

drove plenty at work where the mounts are all secure and appear ok but you can still get the knock.
