Your the fool, i just dont follow the trend i.e. silver! ;)
Im with you on this one Jilly :D

Black is so COOL

Silver is COMMON

Blue is quite nice :)

Red is so-so but faded looking

lol

Sylvia youre only saying that because you have a black one! The red doesnt look faded at all, its metallic, how can it? Blues a bit boring in my view, silver is very nice but i agree far too common. However all are toppled by the Cup blue!

Rob - I am not alone in thinking that the red isnt really red enough and although you say that a black 172 isnt immediately recognisable as such, due to it being available in other models, neither is the flame red, as there are ordinary Clios in a very similar, if not the same colour of fade red.

Anyway, it is fun to whizz past someone which thinks you are driving a 1.2

Common = Popular = High resale value cause they are the original.. cars with sport pedigre should be race car silver..

its the way it was meant to be.. I feel sorry for all you "uncool" folk with your "different" colours.. ;)

Starts a 1 man mexican wave.. SILVER .. SILVER ... SILVER

err no fool if its popular that colour is worth more!
Unfortunately fool youll find thats not true, as when the silver loving phase is over, they are going to be worth a lot less!

It is proven that black has the the best re sale value, maybe only by a small amount, because its a classic colour, not just a phase.

Dont get me wrong, i think the silver one does look lovely, and i dont want the silver owners jumping down my throat!

Black is the classic colour, too common on lower level Clios (especially the 1.2 16V) and Blue is the finer choice, IMHO. I think the Clio really suits silver but there are just tooooo many silver cars, let alone silver Clios!

Never seen a red one irl yet so cant comment

Actually .. thinking about it.. there isnt really a "bad" colour for the 172 is there ? i mean you normally get at least one bad colour in every range of car.. but I would quite happily have any of the colours of 172s..

I guess thats cause they stuck to base colours and didnt really do anything wild.

I wouldnt say theyre base theyre all metallics, or pearlescents..whatever. I do like them all, my fave is just red.
