172 engine differences

Are there any differences between the ph1 block and head compared to the ph2 172? As in would a ph1 head and block work with all ph2 ancillaries etc?

Only difference are the ports. Better on the ph1 but everything bolts up fine

So will ph2 inlet and exhaust manifolds not but to the head and work ok bud?

Also, do the 3 numbers after the F4R mean anything? As I don't know what they are for my current engine and if I get one with a different set of numbers would it still work? I'm only used to VAG and Vauxhall engines haha

It'll all bolt up and work fine without having to change anything. The ph1 head is better.
