How much is a 172 engine worth with snapped belt?

How much will said engine be once repaired?

With snapped belt it's probably only worth what the local scrappy would weigh it in for. Fixed about £400 - £500 depending on miles / history.

Tbh better off binning it and buying another, probably get £400 fix if you sell, but if the belts gone and you have done the valves it's gonna cost you as much if not more to fix it.

the engine comes with a car :rasp: but its got a small amount of accident damage aswell as dud engine, so was thinking of buying fixing the engine and breaking the car, or fix it all up and sell as a whole..

the lapping valves is a pain in the ass tho

I can get the parts cheap anyway Engine will be removed and everything checked, main bearings etc, as for lapping valves i bought a new tool yesterday just for doing that
