172 Front end conversion

For all you that know...

What is needed and what do i need to know when doing this?

I am going to be ordering the front bumper & wings brand new....

does the bumper come with the lower grill and the fog light surrounds? do the fogs from the my dynamique bumper fit in the 172 front bumper?

are the wings & front bumper a straight easy fit? etc etc

I Think thats about it but you may need some extra bolts and such, your fogs should fit with a bit of luck.

You will also need washer jets or blanking plugs for the bumper.

Dont forget with the 172 wings you will also need the side skirts.

the fogs are the same I believe and you dont get any grills or surrounds with the bumper!!

you were to slow off the mark mate I had the whole lot bar the skirts at 1 point!!

Btw, cliospares are selling the 172 front bumper for 141 including VAT.

and wings are 60 inc VAT each, and arch liners would be 80 all in!

and plus they said they can be 10% off to!

Nope ex vat and the prices could have changed not sure if Jay has the most upto date software but the one going round is an older version so prices may have changed.

Can you not save a bit and get the bits from a crashed 172 or cup?

If your cars on finance you may have a problem in 3 yrs if its a 172 look alike and you decide to return it.

Ive been looking for a crashed 172 and cup for about 6weeks now mate, and to no avail! nearly all crashed 172s & cups have had a front ender!

So having to go new for the main bits like the wings and the front bumper.

& I understand about the thing with the finance, but i will most likely be keeping the car unless my finances change & i can afford a faster car to run but i doubt that will happen, i will have alot of debts come next month lol

mate bought the front bumper and it came with fog surrounds. Not sure you need the front arch liners either think he just made do with the old ones same applies to back ones. Dynamique grill does fit.

Front end conversion too? Think you need to do the lot. Front means wider arches-wider arches require the skirts to look right-the skirts need the back bumper to fit right-could be wrong though. Good look.

Think you missed out those nipples(spray water at lights) that go on the front. Think theres a hole otherwise. The cup has little covers on which look better in my opinion but iirc they cost more then the nipples.

good luck with this job, sounds really difficult to do this and expensive as well. I have been complating this too. If you have all the parts you need, how long does it take to do a conversion like this?

conversion parts about 2-3 hours work but if you knew what you where doing ypou could do it much quicker- its cost thats the problem

but i need two new wings anyways... so its an excuse to get the front bumper to. and yeh the wider arches come down to extend onto sideskirts. I am getting the koncept sideskirts instead tho from Ktec coz i find the 172 ones a lil tooo subtle.

those plugs are a rip off, I would prefer just to save the money and stick in the washer thingys even if they dont actually work. lol

Fair play if u think it coems with fog light surrounds, surprised that it would do, i thought it would come with nothing, and big ian has been nice enough to offer me his ones for nearly free hehe ive got the lower grill already now for a tenner off of my mate.

U dont need the rear bumper tho... Im still stuck as to what im doing with the back, not really too keen on the 172 rear bumper on the dynamiques for some reason, gona have to use my foglights, my renault badge and my grill on the new bumper i think.
