172 Headlight alignment?

When I'm driving with the headlights on I notice that the drivers side headlight is higher than the passenger side....I thought that these have automatic headlight adjustment?

How else can I adjust it?

Check to make sure the allignment motor hasnt come off the headlight (its a ball and socket joint) its easily fixed if thats your problem, do a search loads on this kind of problem

my passenger side seems lower than drivers side too

you can manually adjust them by turning the little white thing on the top of the levelling motor... but if the motors faulty it will probably unset itself again...if that happens you can either replace the motor or just unplug it although obviously if you do this you won't have the auto levelling feature - i've had mine unplugged for ages as unless you reguarly have lots of weight in the back it shouldn't make much difference
