172 hubs and suspension on dci

wondering if the bottom arms are the same on both the dci and 172 as my dci is needing brakes and since ive got a nearly new set of brembo disks, greenstuff pads, and 172 hubs lying around was going to fit them along with the 4 newish dampers and eibachs from my 172! (coilovers and 4 pots coming for that!)

just wondering if it will all fit

  dci126 & H&R'd 1*2
in have some dci65 and 172 original shocks lying in my garage, if you have a sec i'll go out and measure bolt spacing etc if they are the same maybe the rest is too
if this is of any use to you that is

Stock brakes are more than enough.

You can just swop the hubs driveshfats (or else swop the bearings over) and shocks over if you wanted but the 2.0 weights more so suspension isn't setup for the right weight.

im possitive the bolt spacing is different but it wouldnt be hard to get a set of 2nd hand 172 hubs if it would fit

54mm on the 172 and 58mm on the dci's also the dci has 13mm diameter bolts and the 172 14m4. (I think its that was round the dci has 1m thinner diameter bolts on it)

  Astra GSI, 172, Golf
the wishbones are different on the 172 to the dci the 172 are slightly longer and sturdier and the arb mounts in a diff position but can be made to fit by drilling a whole. the hubs and suspension leg will fit onto the dci wishbone but you will need the inner part of the hub from the dci pressing into the 172 hub ( not a hard job just need a mechanic probs cost 10 quid to remover and refit each ) as the shaft thickness and splines are different size on each car . deffinatly worth doin though imo . matt

cheers for the advice guys, edde i know standard brakes are more than enough but its just i have 1 month old brembo disks and greenstuff pads lying around doing nothing.

I cant see the dci weighing much more than the 172 at the front end and the rear end in theory should be nearly the same, so should still be an improvement but point noted all the same
