172 Insurance

My mate wants to buy a mk2 ph1 172 that he's found on sunday. its an absolute minter btno one will even touch him for insurance he's 20 and got 2 years no claims. Anyone got any ideas of insurance companys that might help? Also what faults should he be looking for when he looks at it? I know the obvious stuff like electric window faults, cam services etc.
