172 leak from cambelt cover

:S Have a leak from the cambelt plastic cover I think? Any ideas? Andreas

Hi, this is quite common on the 172, & is usually running down from higher up on the engine, by removing the top cambelt cover, you should see alot of oil under the cam pulley's area, usually the camshaft seal's cause this, & also sometimes the breather at the rear of the rocker cover makes a mess, & runs down the side of the engine.
