172 Manifold/Throttle body fit 16v

Ive been thinking over the last couple of weeks whether the 172 inlet manifold ports match those of the 16v/Williams head. I know that the inlet manifold is a good design and maybe with the 172 manifold and throttle body gains could be had?

Does anyone know if the ports match up? Would the manifold fit in the engine bay?

Just an idea, sure its not feasible in reality like most things turn out to be.

Hmmm. Not convinded. Has anyone got a good picture of the 172 manifolds?

Ive got a set. Havent got a digital camera though to take a picture.

Ill try and get some measurements for the ports and the spacing between them and if someone can do this for the 16v then we will have an idea.

You can get the Manifold and TB from a breakers yard however we need to confirm if it is at all possible.

Why not get a gasket for each manifold from Renault and compare them?

Ive got the 172 gaskets. When im next at dealer will compare with 16v ones.
