172 MK2 Steering wheel help

could somebody give me a step by step guide to how I can remove the steering wheel and what I would need tools wise ?

so far I have disconected the battery for a couply of hours, turned the wheel 90 degrees and found the clips at the back ? do I just need to pull hard to get the cover off ?

many thanks

Ye pull both the clips really hard to get the airbag unit off.. I had to use a flat screwdriver with a bit of cloth wrapped round it (to stop any scratching accidents) and a bit of brute force..

Then its a big socket and wrench job to take the centre nut off .. carefully when you take the wheel off though that you dont pull the airbag coiled cable out too as you will never get it back in properly.. im about to put my car into renault to get that cable fixed as it snapped shortly after.. :(

ok - thanks KDF I managed to get the front off, but do you need to take the connectors off the airbag unit before you take the wheel off, or are they connected under the wheel ?
