After a couple of days in MerseyClio and some top work with @bloke , Clio now has a clean bill of health!

Mods completed while at MerseyClio:
Brembo HC front discs
DS1.11. Front pads
Genuine rear discs and replacement pads
Goodridge braided lines
Replacement fluid
Faults cleared
New lambda sensor
Replacement plugs
Poweflex dogbone

Running well now as previously had powerflex engine mounts, and already lowered on eibach springs on the standard Cup shocks.

Next up will be:
Sabelt 330mm steering wheel & boss
BC Coilovers
Improved induction kit
Brake cooling ducts
Sparco Evo seats and subframes
Full cage

Long term it will be boosted so Exhaust and manifold mods are on hold for now.....

Tomorrow is a day of upgrades being fitted by @bloke , coming together now and the first track day approaching.

Due for fitting
BC Coilovers (Cheers @EVO 4LEX )
KTEC supersport stealth system
Sabelt RS steering wheel and boss (Cheers @R-Sport. )

Then wheel alignment and geometry set up due at TunedUk over the weekend.

After that it will be a deep clean, restore plastic trims and machine polish.

Bit of work completed over the weekend following track geometry set up at TunedUK. Rich did a top job to be fair, feels much better on the road now and more responsive.

Spent a bit of time cleaning after it’s work.

Looks really good. I like the interior paint. Looking forward to pics with cage fitted. Good progress.

Further updates after a lot of time has been spent on it by Rich at TunedUK, along with some of his suppliers.

Not far off being ready for its first outing, however just waiting on delivery of a new passanger floor foor rest, fire extinguisher and the front bumper resprayed to finish off a top quality track toy!

Future plans will depend on how it runs on the first few outings, however its likely to be sent to @bloke for a turbo mid 2019.

Some pictures below, and I will update once again when its 100% complete for its first run at Oulton.

Inlets planned to be matched, polished and refurbished in gun metal to suit the rest of the car and then mapped locally.........

Picked up the car this weekend after Rich @TunedUK finalised the last few bits.

Car feels awesome, however suffering with the dreaded linkage resonation following the shifter install which will be sorted shortly.

Handling is on the money and hopefully should challenge a few in the bends at Oulton!

Next upgrades:
Bonnet aerocatchers
PMS linkage
Passenger footrest
Refurbish centre console
Matched inlets
Sort helmet, gloves, boots!

Pics to follow!

Much better than the old ones and hopefully should improve power delivery based on them being matched.

Just need to spray the engine lifting bracket now as it’s letting the bay down!

So the car went really well on its first outing, handling well on the BC's and the alignment completed by @TunedUK was spot on.
Few bits to tweak for the next one, and its off to @bloke for a small issue and a remap he's sorting with Chris at EFI.

Think it will be another day of setting up while N/A, then I think its time to boost........

That looked a really good condition car - even has the original splitter? Brave man to strip it and turn it into a track car! Looks good though, you've achieved a lot quickly!

Yeah to be fair it could have been a great road example, but I bought it for track use and paid a little more on the basis I needed a great base condition car. Last thing I wanted to do was pump money into something covered in rust or previously damaged.

Even though its now a track weapon, it still has all the TLC my daily has when cleaning, waxing and maintaining!

My god this got the treatment quickly! Looks awesome. Really need to pull my finger out and get on with mine!

I’ll be keeping an eye on this thread. Great write up!

After a few tweaks following its last outing, the Clio has been in for a map with EFI thanks to @bloke
Appreciate the figures are held back on the 172 manifold and cat, however little benefit upgrading to the 182 system based on it having a Turbo planned soon.

Not bad figures based on the setup, and feels a lot better mid-range.

So further works have been completed by Karl @bloke having been into Mersey Clio, all in prep for Oulton on the 17th Aug.
  1. Group N Timing
  2. 182 Manifold
  3. V-Band connection to 172 Cup KTEC Stealth System
  4. KTEC system re-fitted and mounts replaced
  5. Rod Bolts and Sump Seal
Been to EFI for a remap post all works and just awaiting the print off, however believe its made 178bhp, and another 15lb or torque.
(Will post the map results shortly)

Also changed some of the decals while I had some time on my hands!
Only remaining consideration is do I treat myself to a set of 15's and some slicks for Oulton....................

Looking at a set of 2118’s or pro race 1.2s.

Just need to decide what to wrap them in!

Any reason or just on looks?
2118 are bloody heavy
Pr 1.2 are better but not constant on weight which I find worse.
Maybe see if you can get some enkei or ssr wheels etc as there normally 5kg or so in 15's

Jesus you built this so quickly. High quality parts aswell! Was great to meet you at Oulton Park. WIll have to get out on track together next time!

Also, took a pcture of yours while it was parked up.
