Recently the clutch has been a bit juddery. I let the wife drive it this morning (first time in weeks) and it comes back with 'a noise'. Great.
I've listened to it, and there is a rattle on idle, which changes when I depress the clutch. It's still juddery on gear change, but no worse than before.
My initial thought is the clutch release bearing is gone. Any other ideas? It's definitely clutch related, rather than any of the other faults it has.
If it is the clutch, how big a job is it? I have been quoted £270 by Mr Clutch (online) and read one of the specialists on here charge £380.
Can I DIY this, or is it a pig and therefore best left to the professionals?
