You might like this angle a bit better. Took it with .5 zoom. Enjoy🤣View attachment 1773902
With the images you've taken. The grill alone on the HD looks to have more surface area than the whole front end of the Clio

Came across this Silverado 1500 with a pretentious numberplate a few months back. Your photo puts it to shame from a comparative perspective.

This is great news. I've been keeping an eye on the thread for a while now so I'm glad to see you got it back on home soil. There are going to be some very confused Texans in your area for the foreseeable future.

Turinis look so good on Titanium Silver, may I ask how you got them? I doubt many Aussies have access to Speedline Turinis, I know in South Africa there's only one guy who has a set for his 182, need to get in his will pronto😂

Yeah, you're on the money. Not many sets here. As they were never offered as an option when new. If you knew the part number, you could import them from a dealers parts department.....at great expense.
Reckon there are less than a handful of genuine speedlines sets in the country (not including the aftermarket version).

I was lucky enough to get my first OEM set (ET45 Trophy spec) from someone in Melbourne for much cheaper than what they were worth. These went on my previous Inferno 182. Pretty sure they are back in Melbourne on a FRB 182.
Second set I imported from the Renault Sport store/Oreca (ET38.5 Cup spec). These are brand new OEM. They have the correct centre bore, centre cap hole diameter and part number castings. Only problem I had with them is that they had the aftermarket variety casting markings between the spokes. My OCD couldnt stand this, so I had these shaved off to match OEM and wheels repainted. I also purchased a set of trophy centre caps then repainted them silver to match the wheels. I'd hate to know how much I spent on these if I totaled everything up 😭 🫠

If you're after a set. This is the listing on the Renault Sport Store: https://shop.renaultsport.com/RSper...ult-clio-ii-r-s-jean-ragnotti-685sl1818r.html

Thanks for all the info, and man do those Brembos look good sitting behind them! For s***s and giggles I went to the site and added 4 into my cart and added my shipping address, it totals to ~EUR1300, which is almost half what I paid for the whole car! One day, I suppose 🤞 😂

I see what you're saying about the casting marks, they'd also get on my nerves, why did them put them in the most visible place possible?!
Funny enough, I've never seen a replica Turini rim before, not necessarily saying they'd be a good buy of course, but to not even have the option? Most BBS rims over here are reps, and cost about a quarter of the real set.

I think ~1200eur (ex VAT) is what I paid in 4 years ago. Though conversion from AUD to EUR was 15% stronger then vs what it is now.

I'm not sure of any comparable replica Turini's/2120's. The closest I can think of is the Rota R-Spec. It's 10 spoke rather than 11.
They make them in 16x7 with a 35 offset. So pretty similar to the Cup spec.
Dont think they have a distributer in SA. Their Aus HQ is based in Perth. So might be more economical with just needing to jump across the indian ocean.

They do look quite similar, I'll look into them, thanks. In South Africa we have our own manufacturer, A-line wheels and these are the closest 16x7J rims they sell, both are also only 10-spoke:

The price difference though is massive, these cost around 650 - 800 AUD for a set of 4. The hub bore is too large but I could have hub centering rings made.

So I have completely fixed the stuttering and data logs are looking good. I replaced the plugs with some nice NGK Iridiums, replaced the HT leads with Magnecor 8.5mm, and replaced the coil with an NGK unit and the car drive perfectly fine now. It turns out that some water had been sitting on top of the #2 plug causing it to do all sorts of weird things, likely when it was being fully cleaned for import. All the other plugs showed no signs of detonation or anything other than perfect conditions.

Can you guess the effected plug?

I also hit the break in mileage and did my first oil and filter change. We don’t have that many Renault compatible options for oil in the US and after som research I ended up with Liqui Moly Leichtlauf 5W-40. Additionally, the closest thing I could find to an OEM filter was the K&N HP-1004. I couldn’t find anyone who had successfully used one on the forums but the dimensions (outside of height) matched and it did end up fitting perfectly without issue.

Also, you can see my fake front plate. I know it’s a bit cheesy but I think it’s fitting as it’s the same plate that I saw in one of my Renault Sport books.

I also had a chance to take it out for a photoshoot!

It’s so f**king cool to have something unique over there, I bet it confuses a lot of people!

Good to see you’ve managed to find service parts that fit too.

It looks so funny in the US, I love it. How many people have come up to you asking what the hell it is?
So just about every time I drive it I get strange looks and probably 20-30 people at this point have asked what it is. Most people don’t really even notice it and kind of blow it off but there’s been a few out there who know what it is or at least know of Renault Sport and love to see it.

I went to a car meet last night and a guy pulled up in a Lamborghini Huracan Performante. Everyone flocked to his car. Anyways he turned out to be a British guy who’s lived in Texas for a few years and when he saw the Clio he went absolutely crazy. His first car was a Ph1 RS and he was so excited to see it stating he hadn’t seen one in years. It was probably the best response to the Clio in the US I’ve got yet.

Glad you found the issue! My 182 has the same issue, my HT leads let water in, and quickly end up causing a misfire. If I remove them, blow it all out with a compressor and remove the plugs and wipe then clean then it's alright, but until I replace my HT leads I can't hose down the engine bay 😂 🙆‍♂️
