172 (phase 1) what pads/discs for track days??

What's a good set up for track use?? The car will be used on the road as well but mainly track. Id rather keep costs down if possible so no huge brake conversions

can you get away with stock discs & good race pads, or is it better 2 upgrade the discs as well??

the biggest advantage you'll see if always using fresh disks if you change pad compound. Been surprised by brand new disks and genuine pads being very good when new.

Shitloads of pad options if you're particularly hard on these things

The CL RC5+ is probably the best pad option for you seems you want to use it on the road and the track. It'll work from cold up to temperatures well above what you'll get to on track so you won't get pad fade and you wont have much dust either. Combined with a decent brake fluid and braided brake lines you won't go far wrong

DS2500 works a treat on road and track.....that is along with braided brake lines and brembo max discs. When I come to changing them I will use the same pad but will try the HC discs.

just don't use 1144's - s**t, they gave up on me at 120mph+ at bedford which was hilarious!

Having tried a few types, I'd go for the ds2500's. Even if the rc5+'s hadn't disintegrated on me, I would of gone back to ferodo.
