172 Rear Shocks

Hey all,

I know this has been covered before as I've searched on it - but all the answer I can find is Main dealer, main dealer main dealer.

But.... I need two rear shocks for a 2001 clio 172. Main dealer price is £44.33+ VAT each, cheapest I've found is £41.94 from a local motor factors.

Is there anywhere (apart from main dealer) where people can suggest for cheaper than the above price?

It's only got 44,000 miles on it.

Im looking for the same. Mine have done 85k - do you think they need replacing ?

How much are the fronts and whats the difference between the 172\Cup and 182 fron struts ?

Tbh £44 isn't an expensive price, i'd just go for the proper renault ones. I doubt you'll get much cheaper, it isn't worth saving 2 quid for pattern parts imo.

i would get the real reno ones, or failing that splash out for koni adjustables.

Im not sure but it would seem that Yozzasport are listing cup dampers at £99 a piece and standard 172 at £50 something. I would say there must be a difference ?

They don't cost that much from renault iirc.

i would agree mate thats not a bad price,see if you can get anyone in the trade to buy them for you,iv just bought a pair of front shocks for my 172 from renault,did me decent discount bless em,paid £53 quid plus vat for the pair
