172 small problem

advice with 172. mine has a slight grinding niose (coming from where the ABS pump is) when i first start up and move off and when i break hard, renault said it could be that my abs pump is loose or that it is catching somewhere or but want to charge me stupid amounts for looking at it.
any ideas? i have cheacked pads and bearings all fine and my brakes work fine??



they also said when i start up my car is doing a ABS check but why does it do it when i break hard???

replied to your other post. everytime you start and move off the abs does a check. it checks all sensors and runs the pump for a split second. if you brake hard and cause the abs to cut in the pump runs again to replenish fluid loss in abs operation (thats why you get a jerky brake pedal when the abs works). Now read my other post and it will make more sense
