172 Spare key doesn't work

for my 172 - I have checked the battery and it's fine...what do I do?

yes but the alarm goes off

got it sorted, stripped it down - the switch has fallen off the PCB - have detached the blade and will get another key off E-Bay and my mates 'mate' will code it for me

they can't be re-coded afaik. Thought you had to buy an new un-programmed one from renault?

I rang renault yesterday and there is 2 types of key's which have to be ordered using your Reg No from france. Mine came back as £60 odd for the un-programmed key (cheapest of the two), then £35 for programming, £95 for a key, ouch!

as yours has the alarm also SCPM, I would guess that yours will probably the more expensive option anyway mate (although he didn't give me a price on that one)

re-solder the microswitch that has fallen off, job done and will save you loads of cash.

that's what I'm doing as a temporary repair Mike. Can you not get the keys any cheaper mate?
