Don't forget the aircon isn't just weight... it's also sapping your engine of a few ponies. Most likely why Cups generally make closer to standard power on a RR.

Nearly all the Cups sold after Climate OCntrol was made an option were fitted with it. It was probably an indicator to Renault that people actually wanted a 'hardcore' car but more in name than reality............. maybe the reasoning behind the weak 'Cup' offerings ever since.

Exactly the point of AC. Who cares what the average temperature is? I'd rather not suffer just one day of intense heat in a car through lack of AC, than make myself feel hardcore for the other 364 days by not having it
and you lot forgot the cups seats don't have airbags, which also saves the weight, and the missing engine cover, and crummy interior light is different too.
