172 switch to 182

Had my 182 on the road for about a week now and apart rom the dreadful tyres and rubbish standard shocks, its so different from my 172. Is it normal for the power to kick in at 5k? The 172 kicked in abput 3.5k.
Is it in need of an overhaul/ good service or an RS tuner or similar remap?

First question with these is always "who did the last cambelt change?"
The 182 is receipted as done 20k ago by a local garage IIRC. It has a slightly noise tappet once warmed up so might whip the top off to sort that and do belts at same time.
172 was last done be me 10k ago, and defo has kick between 3 and 4, maybe closer to 4?
