172 throttle body on a valver

got talking to some tit in the pub today who thought he was the worlds best mechanic you know the sort anyway he says that i could fit a 172 throttle body to my valver is this true the bloke seemed a complete knob but if he is right i will bite my tongue as he might come in usefull mechanically any serious help much appreciated

how does the 172 TB look like? never saw one.

Ill pop down Renault tom. and get the inlet manifold gasket for the 16v. Ive got a 172 one and can see if they marry. If so then you could fit the 172 manifold and throttle body. Not sure if the potentiometer plug is the same and I guess all the other pipes and stuff will fit?

with clever mountings and adaptors you could fit it, but it is a totally diff shape, and im not sure about the potentiometer. No real point trying......work out total inlert area before.
