172 To Mk2 V6...

Honestly mate there 10 a penny in Glasgow/Scotland

I still like them right enough i just feel they would have been more special had every 3rd bmw not be an M3:eek:
Ah fair do's bud, I just don't see that many down here.

I'd have a normal one for sure, but yeah the CSL's are mint !

I was up at knockhill a few years ago and there was a Lhd Purple CSL, what a driver that guy was, he threw that thing about and knew what he was doing for sure...!

Im not convinced that purple was an original CSL colour...? Anyone make any advances on that?

Fletch you gotta do it, will be awesome but I can't see you getting rid of your old bus. Can't imagine you letting the girlfriend drive it either. I know how much you love the Lunar grey so go for that.

Yes mate, I was having a chat with the GF earlier and she thinks I'm soft when it comes to the old 172  I doubt I'll ever part with it..lol.

I do like Lunar Grey, It's just finding one (Without the leather option) which could prove difficult.

I do like Acid yellow, just not a fan of the wheels TBH.. I haven't got the funds yet either :(

Was going to say the wheels aren't great.

Only four in the country and so finding one for sale at decent price almost impossible.

Would look awesome if you could get it this good.

I'd disagree. I'll never own a vee, but I can't think of anything as special in the same price bracket. An E46 M3 is vastly more capable and rounded, but most of the time (like the m5) it just feels like an ordinary BMW with a slightly worse ride.
The Vee never feels ordinary!

Would rather have one of these my self. Much more special.

Yeah Shaun's bus is lovely.

Me luv them Evo Integrale's too... yeah shame about them being so fragile.

Found a suitable Vee yet? ;)

I don't think i can add anything that Craig, Mike and James haven't already put forward.

The 172, esp. yours is a great wee car, but that’s all it is, and it's now become a cheap, very affordable wee weapon...(I see alot of young guys buying them, paying way over the odds on insurance, never driving them because they would rather sit in a carpark as that’s all their fuel quota will allow!)

It's defo a car you have to have to say you've had one. I spend alot of time defending the car on here when in reality i don't have it. I know it's a superior car to the 172...I've had both, i know it's better ontrack, offtrack, i know it's faster/quicker, i love the looks, and I’ve modified in a way that imo has enhanced it but kept it factory fresh.

The car has so much soul, it is useable everyday as mike and Craig can prove, however, i chose not to. Its weird, i would rather get a 50k Z4M dirty and not wash it for 2wks but i couldn't drive the vee dirty...Bizarre. No sense to it.

The costs of the Vee are minimal compared to other top marques. It's marginally more on fuel that a 172. Say another 100£ a month. Depending on your mileage, tyres are again a fraction more...Nothing to cry about.

The big service is of course expensive, but just buy one which has had that vital belt change.

I've never moaned about the turning circle...I mean who gives a monkeys that you have to do an extra stab at getting into a TIGHT space...Big deal. The lack of boot...Well, you can use the passenger footwell if it allows, or the luggage net in the back...It's surprisingly big.

If you lived up here, i'd happily give you the car for a long as you'd need to make up your mind! - I would bet you a pint, it would only take you a day to make up your mind!!!

Integrale's are still ace, i'd not compare them to a Vee though !

Behave the Integrale won 6 World Rally Championships back to back and a V6 though a nice car is a Clio with a Laguna engine in the back of it.

An Evo 1 or 2 Integrale would own a V6 and there easier and cheaper to tune.

:)

What other car was the Integrale engine in...Before you start ripping into the v6!!!

I doubt it would own a vee...There genuinely are very good on track!! In the right hands!

Thanks for the long post Ali :)

I will own one, hopefully sooner rather than later :approve:

No, because there is bugger all in common. There's probably less common parts on the laguna than that ^^^^!!!

Other than the displacement and degree angle, thats where the similarities stop!

  Better than yours. C*nt.

Aye, it's a Laguna engine but the top end's had a fairly extensive overhaul as you'll note that the Laguna V6 is barely capable of 200bhp...

Lancia Deltarusta lmao. In its day twas a beast indeed, not as much fun as a Maestro Turbo mind.

The Vee even comes with the steering wheel on the right side for normal people. ;)
