172 turning over but won't start, help needed.

Hi,

Went to start my 172 up this morning, turned the key to 2, heard the fuel pump prime, turned over fine but wouldn't start. Tried 3 or 4 times to no avail.

Could this be something to do with the key? I've heard of a few owners on here pressing the key button as they turn the ignition.

The only other thing worth mentioning is it was low on fuel when I parked it up.

Have you not got a spare key you could try ? mine is a bit hit and miss with the spare
