172 Wheels paint job?

Car  Clio 172 Monaco
Hi im thinking of painting my wheels white? what are your thoughts? p.s its a blue 172 non cup

What's the point in asking for thoughts?

It's your car so your personal preference..

In sure there are people with white wheels and people with pink but why ask what we think on here, do what you want!

Have a look around the forum read some project threads an look at a lot of RS's and make your own mind up.

what wheels are they matey?
std 172 alloys? if so,i dont think theyll look goood in white.
better suited to multi spokes, but theyre a biatch to keep clean constantly.

i agree standard 172 alloys wouldnt look that good white. but then i like white wheels on blue cars when done right, so maybe try other wheels.

I think there just the stand ph2 wheels :rasp: just thought of something little diffrent but im going start by geting them re power coated and refurbed always a good way to start thanks for tips and thoughts :)

Some right arseholes on here ATM.

I would keep them silver pal or even go for anthracite. (grey)

Gaz.

Agree with Gaz. White wheels rarely work.

Very few cars on here Pulled them off.

Ive got white Speedline Chrono's on my 172 flamer and with the extra offset thought they looked the dogs. Now they're just a b**ch to keep clean and every tiny scratch is easily seen. Even when ive given them a good scrub, i'll walk away and think they need another clean straight away.

My advice would be to get them refurbed in silver instead of white.

Cheers people some great advice not like the 1st bit of advice I had  going to get them refurbed in the silver p.s I am new on here today thank you for the comments x

Just a nice new lick of silver paint for me, nothing better then minty mint silver wheels for me now! I've had white, black, colour coded, polish lips and even glow in the dark wheels before. give me a mint silver set any day now.

Really into the OEM scene atm, to me standard is the new modified.

white wheels are a pain in the arse to keep clean tho.

I agree, I wonder why some bother wasting their time posting unhelpful or sarcastic comments. There ought to be some stronger policing on here. I personally think the white would look great with the blue but like some have said would be a pain to keep clean. Have you thought of anthracite (grey), that would also look good IMO.

Well there a refurb thread on here for £20 a wheel or something so going get them refurbed and do u mean the dark grey like the 182 cup 1s? As I am thinking the original silver or the dark grey as every1 made me think again about white as get dirty easy common sence really I know :rasp: And I notice Robin not said anymore why did he bother commenting if he had nothing useful to say?

I personally think white only suites multispoke wheels.
And doesn't suit the standard 5 spoke 172 wheels, or 182 wheels.

What colour is your 172.
Standard silver or grey works well on pretty much all colours.

I stated my thoughts and sarcastic or not it was my opinion and that's all. Sometimes newbies get ripped other times supported for poor posts. That's all :) maybe was abit harsh but something that's personal choice shouldn't be as much as an open discussion!

As I said have a look at a few clios yourself and decide! Good luck!

Its a blue 172 none (cup) dark blue standerd wheels :)and well speaking to newbies like that is harsh as this place won't get any newbies if that the sarcastic result if you have nothing decent to input maybe you should just keep quite and don't spoil it for others I'm a newbie and won't be scared off by horrible sarcastic comments but others might. :nono:

Hey jazzy, I can hook you up with a refurb, but it won't be £20 a rim, I'm based in Cheltenham. Message me if you want to pop over next week.

Good for you mate and I totally agree. As for your question a couple of posts ago, yes the dark grey, anthracite, it looks like the colour of say titanium or gun-metal grey. I think it would suit your blue really well and would be a bit meaner than silver and easier to clean than white.
