172 wide track - where is the difference?

as per the title really - cant really see where they could have built the wider track in to the car, as traditionally it would be a difference in the hubs,, but i've read on here hubs are the same??
cant be in the wishbones as the bodys are the same across the range and the camber would be out
so that leaves the hub flanges??

Wider wishbones, and the camber is adjusted back with different hole positions on the stuts I guess

gotta make sure the hub spacings are the same for the shock, the caliper mounting holes are diff sizes also so you'd need 172 brake setup aswell i guess, then with regards to abs sensors apparently they are on the driveshafts and the longer 172 driveshaft's abs rings are different to the 1.2 ones.........

no im not looking to to do it, the whole front end is going 172 as im getting the lot from matt black, but i figured if the track difference was indeed in the hub flanges id just press the 1.2 flanges in to new bearings on the 172 hubs and suck the wheels back in.

The 172 Cup is wider still but its mostly down to the Turini's. I put FF 172 wheels on mine for a while and it looked underfed...skinny as hell.

yep, cup is wider because of the Turinis.
The 182 however, and the Trophy have the bigger hubs and to go with that a different offset wheel (to compensate the larger hub that sticks out more like 0,5 cm each side)

Don't think the hubs are the same actually, not the same as the non rs models anyway. They're different bolt spacing for a start.
