williams was a limited addition, 172 isnt. williams is a classic, 172 isnt. williams looks great, 172 doesnt.

Yup.

Also Williams owners are complete tossers and 172 owners are not.

The car is special. You are not.

;)

Performance wise very similar. bhp/ton identical. Trouble is there are very few standard examples left, so it's difficult to compare the two.

i dont remember calling 172 owners tossers?? so u calling me a tosser?

172 is quicker in a straight line and in the only magazine comparison i've seen quicker round a track than a Williams.

if a manufacture only makes 200 or 300 of a car then its limited. so 2 and 3 are both limited as well as the 1.

is it just me or do 172's look like all other clios on the range but with bigger wheels.

imo williams clios are loads better than 172s! especially the mk1 172, thts jus orible!
A williams is not an old banger! wont be long until they are classed as classic cars! 172s are mass produced like common 1.2s and 1.4s, there were only a limited number of williams clios made, making them rare and more valuable. performance wise id go with the willy, my willy hybrid pisses on 17s and that was when it had an exhaust and filter! most ppl on cliosport now are mk2 owners who pay for there car on finance or there parents have bought them it! no offence to people who have actually earned there cars!

ill admit that some mk2 172's do sometimes need a 2nd look to see if they are the sport model or a lower model, especially in black. Altho i do like the 172's!

Williams 1 was limited, but it was so good they made more! They are that bit special IMO. I prefer the mk1's over mk2's anyway, wider arches, bonnet bulge etc, but the Williams is just a sweet sweet car straight out the factory!

oh and......

only when you 1/4 mile downhill with the wind pushing you ;) hehe

The cars are different. The Williams does stand out with its bonet bulge and wiser arches IMO more than the 172/182 does against a normal Clio. Speed wise there not much in it and then you have the problem of finding a standard as new car to face a 172/182 on the track. I love my Williams but I still love the Mk2's. Neither is better its difference. The Williams will be more of a claissic as they only make about 1200 I think the 172/182s are without question way more common thats not a negative thing though. The Williams will be a classic more than the 172/182 will though it was a rally and track racing car which held and still holds many trophys (no pun intended) the 172/182 never went like that.
