172 with k tec decat

Hey does anyone know if the engine light comes on with a k tec decat fitted with the twin sensor lamdas since the sensors r reading the same?

If you leave the pre-cat sensor in and the post-cat sensor out (and shake it all about lol) then it should register a difference. But from what I've read on here it's a bit of a lottery as to whether or not your light comes on.

9/10 times it comes on

No but I often wonder what happens when there is a problem, will the light go off instead?

mine didnt come on with the ph1, shame as i seem to be collecting dash lights atm

got a janspeed, and would imagine its much the same as the k-tec.

i left both o2 sensors in the decat pipe, and nothing happened for the first 1000 miles or so. Then all hell let loose, and had big problems ever since.

Leave the 2nd one out from the begining.

I get emiision lights, erratic idle, engine management warnings, throttle positions sensors, weird readings on fuel guage etc etc

Putting my cat back on next week lol

In most cases the light will come on but the engine will continue to run the same.

We will soon have a small hand held code reader available for owner who wish to read the fault code registered and switch off the engine warning light (until is comes back on again). At least this way to can regularly check that it is only the decat causing the light to come on.

i plugged the scanner into mine, and confirmed the 2nd o2 sensor was the cause... so thats a good idea.

Ive got the janspeed decat on my ph1 with just the 1sensor and left it plugged in and no lights have come on the dash, the decats been fitted for quite awhile now.
