172's that fast,

  80MPG BEEZA
i did 135 in mine and it was still going but acceleration slows down to the point where you just nailing your car for the last 10-15mph and i dont think its worth the strain on the engine

  Lux'd Glacier White R26
140 mph is warp speed!! When you pass a car when you're doing 140 and they're doing 70.. now thats scary!* Not worth it imo!!

*I wasn't driving, i was passenger in a 997 Carrera S.

Tyson.

  Damage repaired
Have had an indicated 130mph in a 172FF and was still climbing fairly steady. Its getting to 100mph that always amazes me.

Evo 5 is quoted at 276bhp...but that's running on Jap fuel so wil probably be 15/20bhp less on UK fuelquote]

Would'nt be surprised if it actually gave nearer 300bhp standard. Jap car makers are notorious for quoting power figures below what a car really has. It happens because there is supposed to be a 276bhp 'cap' on any Jap car!

(Before anyone says it FQ400 etc are converted by Mitsubishi UK from standard Jap models)

Have had an indicated 132ish whilst chasing a Ibiza Cupra R down the slip road, was nout in it to 120ish then i breezed by, if I'd have been quicker off the lights he wouldn't have got passed. He was spraying all sorts of crap out the exhaust...

Chickened out at 132ish.... value my license.

Forgive my stupid banter...

Anything over the ton is not necessary! But I would say the 138mph quoted top speed is about right...

althought there is no point a car being able to do 100+ imagine how pi**ed off you would be is you bought your clio and took it for a spin and it stopped dead at 100mph. Although it would make a good cruise control...

  Trophy #473
only had mine upto 125 but after 100 it took ages, you would need loads of road to get it to 135 :s

  RenaultSport clio 182
During Private Airfield Tests... Mates 172 FF - 138mph
and 2 different 182 Cup Packs- 145mph with the gear change light on. Clear day, Flat land. Thank you. xxx

Would be pretty irritating, especially if performing a over-taking manover...

think they have about 250bhp standard, correct me if im wrong.

but once you count the 4WD Power losses and extra weight...

^^ yip they are around 280bhp and exactly what you said the 4wd power loss and extra weight of the bigger car comes into play.

I've tailed an evo 6 and it didn't get 2 car lengths on me till the next roundabout came up, just over 1/2 mile strip of road on the way out of sunderland, with all the roundabouts the "bird" driving couldn't shake me and I'd only been driving the car a day so wasn't used to its power curve.

my saxo got off the clock when I had that at 140. The clocks are always out however by about 0.2% per 10 mph (approx and changes per car).

I was slightly modded VTS with enclosed filter, decat magnex and remap, running about 150bhp. It was 80-110 where it was piss poor

all of this was not done on the M1 of course, private road all the way

K tec are the best out there for renault's i know some people who have had their mk1 valvers turbo'd and they have thought of everything when doing this like stronger cams and pistons and sh*t like that

I understand that but you'll still be lucky if it'll make 300bhp on UK fuel....the ecu will r****d the ignition due to knock resulting in less power.

Does vary from car to car though
